CHEVRA KADISHA The Congregation Adath Israel Chevra Kadisha consists of at least four Members of the Congregation, appointed by the President, at least one of whom is a members of the Executive Board. The Chevra Kadisha has charge of the Congregation's Pine Street Cemetery and of interment matters in general, subject to such rules and regulations as has been approved, published, and distributed by the Executive Board, working with and guided by the Rabbi. JEWISH WAR VETERANS The Jewish War Veterans Major General Maurice Rose Post 51 is made up of Members from two Synagogues --- Congregation Adath Israel, Middletown and Congregation Beth Shalom, Chester. Membership is open to all former and current Jewish military service men and women and their family members. Its purpose is to maintain allegiance to the nation, support universal liberty, equal rights and justice to all, as well as advocating for veterans' rights and benefits. Meetings are usually held monthly at a Sunday morning brunch.

KADIMA/USY Kadima and USY are Congregation Adath Israel's Youth Groups and are affiliated with the national Conservative movement. Kadima is for children in Grades 5 - 8, and USY is for high school-aged students. Both groups organize events, both local and with other Connecticut chapters and national meetings. Membership in the Groups is a wonderful way for our youth to connect with other Jewish children and to reinforce their ties to our Synagogue. Rachel Levenson is the Leader of the Kadima / USY Group. STITCHERY The Stitchery Group meets Wednesday mornings at the Synagogue from 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon. The Stitchery Projects include handcrafting children's knitwear which is sent to Kehillat Shalva in Safed, Israel and also to the Mid-State R.S.V.P. (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) which distributes the items to Middlesex Hospital, Red Cross, etc. Afghans are sent to the Veterans Hospital and Hospice and to the needy throughout the State. During our weekly sessions we socialize, celebrate birthdays as well as Jewish traditions and hospitals. Everyone is welcome.

SYNAGOGAL SINGERS Join the Synagogal Singers (the Congregation Adath Israel Choir) if you wish to meet new friends, enrich your spiritual experience through music, participate in and learn more about Services, feel more connected to the Jewish Community, and, especially, have fun! The Choir rehearses every Monday evening from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM, August through May.
